DT’s® Pure Reef Elements are formulated using the highest grades of raw materials. No additional trace elements are added that can build up to toxic levels in reef aquariums over time.

Contains approx. 75,000 ppm Mg.

Magnesium is taken up along with calcium and bicarbonate to become part of the calcium carbonate structure. The effect of this, changes the structure which stops the excess precipitation of calcium carbonate onto coral skeletons and other surfaces. Excess precipitation of calcium will also cause a drop in pH. Because of the positive effect on pH and the ionic balance of calcium and bicarbonate, it is very important to maintain proper magnesium levels in reef aquariums.

Directions for use:

Magnesium levels recommended for reef aquariums are from 1250 ppm– 1350 ppm. One tsp (5ml) of DT’s Pure Magnesium per 10 gallons of actual water volume will increase magnesium by 6 ppm. Recommended starting dose is 1 tsp (5ml) per 5 gallons per day until the desired level is reached. Test your level and adjust dosage as required.
